Mobile Outreach Begins!

Department of Behavioral Health's – Substance Use Disorder and Recovery Services team including Alex Cordova, MHEC and Dr. Jon Avalos, and Deputy Director Amber Carpenter, in partnership with members of the Sherriff's HOPE TEAM, began mobile outreach operations June 30th in San Bernardino. Narcan, overdose prevention kits and personal hygiene kits were distributed, in addition to water and breakfast bars. A total of 15 individuals were contacted including 1 seeking services for stimulant use disorder and 1 seeking wound care treatment. The Mobile Unit marks a new chapter to meet the community's needs . Great work!
